Nasty Old People – the free movie

By The Zor, 23 October, 2009, No Comment

I did not watch the movie yet, it is downloading right now, but I love the concept behind it. It is free, and if you like it you can donate for it as much as you wish. And the movie is “open source” – you can edit it as you wish and then put it back online. BEHIND THE SCENES as stated on The Pirate Bay “In the autumn of 2007 Hanna Sköld took a private bank loan of 10 000 euro to make her debut feature film “Nasty Old People”. Now she continues to ignore the middle men in the film industry by distributing it together with the film collective RåFILM’s Luffarbion, aka Vagabond Cinema, and the file sharing site The Pirate Bay. In addition, she releases it under a creative commons license so that anyone can download, share or remix the film.” So download it, watch it and donate because this time your money goes to the right persons not like with the crap corporate american film industry. Do your own screenings, get involved and fuck the system. UPDATE- The movie is great! Really. I am not a film critic but I saw some good European movies and this one deserves to be between the top ten.

Searching for its history

By The Zor, 15 October, 2009, No Comment

In the Autoworld museum from Brussels I found the motorcycle from the pictures. The info tag was missing, the one near to the motorcycle said Kubelwagen. It is hard to believe that the motorcycle actually is a four wheeled car from the WWII. The missing front brake makes me think it is an early Flat Track motorcycle which also won some races. If anybody can help discover the history of the bike please drop an email.

KTM 144 SX

By The Zor, 14 October, 2009, No Comment

It went through a serious top end job after it suffered a small problem. Piston, cylinder, clutch plates had to be changed. Some goodies where added. ASV brake and clutch levers still to come, together with some performance mods.

Searching for an honest relationship with motorcycling

By The Zor, 7 October, 2009, No Comment

There is more to motorcycling than showing off your latest bling leather suit, your new 200hp racing motorcycle, or polishing your chrome. There is more to riding a motorcycle in a MC then just the need for a pack to feel stronger. People do it for the wrong reason. God bless there is a Darwinian theme to motorcycling through technological development of more powerful engines making easier for mother nature to chose between the quick and the dead. Luckily there are people like Shinya Kimura and MCs like the Basara from Japan, who are able to continue and evolve the pure passion of such people like Burt Munro and the WWII veteran chopper gangs. “We’ve all seen it: the guy who talks the talk, who owns that sweet cut down rigid, running all the right mods, has all the right cues…but it’s nothing more than an aesthetic “theme” for him. Sure he’s running a jockey shift on that sucker, yeah it’s got that super hot stroker in it, but he only rides it in a straight line, well under the speed limits, down to the bar, or to shows, or to the “clubhouse” to hang out with his fellow “hardcore chopper buddies.” There is no difference. The one is as guilty as the other. ” My honest admiration goes to Shinya Kimura and the MC Basara and my last thanks goes to Miller Genuine Draft for this not so inspirng thoughts.
